Your humor amazes me. So the agreement comes out and this is all you could come up with? Amazing!

I liked the sequel to this one..."Selectmen in hell".

To the anonymous comment #2. Sorry that this is all I came up with on the day of the new agreement. I actually posted it at 10 a.m. and the agreement came out much later - when I was selfishly taking my sister out for dinner on her birthday.

Perhaps you could come up with your own crafty blog, that you could update while you are out or in your sleep, for others to criticize.

You criticize Pat Rogers for going on a planned vacation out west. Why are you so unforgiving of him and his family, yet defend yourself for "selfishly taking my sister out for dinner on her birthday"?

You should spend more time with humor/parody (and concern for Bridgewater's financial woes) and less with slander upon people that unselfishly donate their time to the town of Middleborough (please note the correct spelling of tghe town).

Your message gets lost due to its vindictive nature.

Dear anonymous, I have never criticized Pat Rogers for his western vacation. In fact, I praised him to the hilt for what he learned on that vacation and how he shared that with the other selectmen.

Now, as far as the spelling of Middleboro - I was born and raised there and I know full well you can spell it either way. Some spell it the old fashioned way, some don't. It's all good.

As far as Bridgewater is concerned, yes there are problems. Fortunately, one of them is not a casino. And besides, I am not so shortsighted to think a casino will make all financial woes disappear.

Further, my message hasn't been lost, except by you. But then, I don't write this blog for you. Please consider creating your own blog for your thoughts and for those who share them. It's very cathartic.

Love and kisses,
Gladys

I really thought Gladys would have some type of comment on this ' new long awaited for agreement'. For someone who took so much time to create the other blog stories, I'm disappointed, Gladys.

Gladys,
You are SO creative. Keep writing those great blogs. The opposition is just jealous because they couldn't compete with a blog like yours. (They can't even write let alone be creative enough to have a clever blog)You keep it up girl!! I'm your number one fan. Don't even try to defend yourself....it's not worth your time.

KEEP WRITING!!

We just want you to know that we appreciate your humor and support. We have lived in Middleboro for 6 years and love the Town but saddened that our selectmen have chosen to sell the soul of our town. Keep up the great blog and thanks for supporting us.

I think Gladys is a "force" for our cause. She's got soul. She cares more for Middleborough (or Middleboro)than any of you crankypants crazy gamblers. No casino.Go suck a lemon.

I just want YOU to know that I THANK YOU! I love Middleboro, too, and believe it deserves better leadership.

I believe Middleboro AND Bridgewater could be run more responsibly. No, it won't be easy. But real leadership never is easy. Thank you for your comments, and let's hope wisdom will prevail on the south shore!

It's always impressive that the brain-dead who refuse to consider the facts or lack thereof, are so willing to criticize.
Did they miss the part about the Town, with a $62 million budget, has $50,000 in reserves for an emergency? Guess they did!
Did they miss the part about the brain-dead Selectmen hastily calling a Town meeting with no money and no plans? They are sure to miss the flaws in the hastily contrived agreement. What's in it for Mr. Bond? Anyone asking? Because the voters sure are speculating. Victoria will love living in Wellesley Hills!

I'd like to know what other business would come into Middleborough, pay us $$$ equal to what this casino will pay? No one has answered that question. Letting this land get bought up by a private developer who would build homes, once again, would not equal the amount of tax revenue that we will get with this agreement. As for Adam Bond, at least he understands the law, unlike his collegues on the BOS. I give him credit for working out a deal such as they have presented. I'll reserve my judgement until I can read the entire document.

Why not let Mr. Darmon build another 1200 "mobile home" units. Hell they contribute a whopping $144 per year to the town per "mobile home". That's a great way to help decrease the town's deficit!? Let him build more. I see the Oak Point residents are up in arms wanting to know what the damn Indians will do for them??? Hell, Mr. Bond you better get in that agreement free busing to and fro for the old timers at Oak Point or you'll be voted out of office since they are now by far the largest voting block in the Town and they have shown their votes can easily be swayed with a free hot dog and free bus ride. . . you'd better watch out. I'm sure some generous soul will put up the dough to fund the tent the old timers will need to protect them from the hot sun (although they should get us to it since they will eventually be living in it) so they can get their "pro-casino" vote in. I wonder who that will be??? I want to know what the Inidians offered to cause the "selectgirls" to run like fairies and pull the original Whittesley agreement (the one much more favorable to the town) off the table and go back to the original, unfavorable agreement? Love the poster gladys, I'd love to get it on a bill board.

Doesn't the timing of all of this seem odd to anyone?
First we have the series of Oak Point meetings, which in the middle we as a town voted down the override. It looks like a grand scheme planned months ago bu our leadership to get the casino.
Knowing that the majority was tired of paying taxes so they could get wasted, it looks like everyone knew beforehand the override would fail. But that was all part of the plan, because now the idea could be sold that the casino was the only way out for the town! Couple that with the expansion of Oak Point ( which was overwhelmingly voted for at the series of Monday meetings ) and the casino will have a new large potential customerbase from which to start off of..
Does anyone other than me feel like were all getting played?

In reponse to Wayne.....are we getting ' played?'....I had to chuckle.....the biggest Player of this town just retired..Jack Healey. He's played this town for years.
