Getting Personal...

Please take a moment of your time today to tell president-elect Obama your story.

Let him and his incoming administration know how failed federal policy is helping international billionaire investors build casinos in residential middle-class neighborhoods. Describe the process, the impacts to you, your family and your community.

Explain that someone's idea of 'mitigation' doesn't translate into your quality of life.

Tell your story.

This is your chance to be heard - please use it. Nothing is more powerful than the truth.

What a great idea! I posted a few thoughts, but for some reason didn't think about the casino that will never come to Middleboro because of people like yourself.
As always, you're an inspiration!

Dear anon. 9:12 and everybody else -

It is very important that you DON'T STOP speaking out against a casino in Middleboro.

I am gratified that, thanks to the efforts of myself and my fellow bloggers, some members of the responsible media, and others, you understand the hurdles to the Tribe and it's investors when it comes to getting land into trust for this project.

But what you may not understand, and I apologize if I've not been clear enough, is that one of the reasons it will fail, has always and will always be, because of you. Your voices. This is the only time all our voices will be heard. So raise them.

THEY COUNT!

And I'm counting on you.

When we break the ribbon at the finish line - that's when it's over. It's not over now, or I wouldn't be asking you to write to the new administration.

Please follow the link. Please inform the new administration about your (and our) situation.

You know, I've probably written about a million words on this blog since last June. But it may be YOUR words that could end it for good.

Go!
Love,
Gladys

I shared my thoughts on this national gambling disease and I hope others do as well. This is a chance to really be heard if enough of us write a few words about this nonsense maybe it will be noticed.

Don't stop writing to you congressmen and area representatives as well. There is power in numbers and votes!

I posted about our number one problem (IMO) - dependence on oil and the environment.

I have also posted about casino gambling and the flawed economic development model that it is.

Thank you Gladys for the reminder!

Yes, we must do more than discuss this issue among ourselves, we need to write to those who are in a leadership position!!
